Just come across this awesome "mash-up" from Norwegian video-editing & electronic music-producer Peter Bull (Norwegian Recycling). The track "Miracles" is composed of some really clever cut-and-paste vocal samples from artists such as Michael Jackson and Survivor to make an entirely new track!

I’m totally hooked on Spotify at the moment, it is simply genius, all the music I want when I want for FREE (ok, so I have the £5 monthly subscription… the adverts did my head in). If you haven’t download the free version yet I recommend you give it a try - think of it as “radio evolved”
Anyway enough of the big sell. The reason I like Spotify so much at the moment is because of the social networking features that all you to subscribe and share playlists through facebook, twitter and sites like sharemyplaylist.com. Now I’m a geek when it comes to lists and collections (just take a look at my daytum profile) so I had to create my own list, but being me I had to come up with a twist on the play list that wasn’t being done by all the others (that I know of) on Spotify.
I wanted a list that reflected my musical upbringing - that shows my influences and how/why I like the music I currently listen to. This was a great idea to start with, but it didn’t really differ from any of the other playlists around, plus my list of tracks was massive! No one would take the time to listen to this (except me). I needed to break it down to a smaller list that really showed the tracks I remember best - so I came up with the idea of doing an A to Z type list A is for…. B is for… ect. This allowed me to keep the list relatively small whilst giving he option to include a reason for the track selection.
Sooo here it is, The A to Z of Jon Pudny …
A is for… Aqualung - Strange and Beautiful
B: Ben E. King - Stand by Me
C: Belinda Carlisle - Circle in the Sand
D: The Doors - People are Strange
E: Ennio Morricone - L’Estasi Dell’oro
F: Deniece Williams - Free
G: Inner City - Good Life
H: Block Party - Helicopter
I: Talk Talk - It’s my life
J: J.J Cale - Magnolia
K: Kool and the Gang - Summer Madness
L: Let’s stay together - Al Green
M: Stevie Wonder - Master Blaster (Jammin)
N: Nirvana - Lithium
O: Charles Jackson - Ooh Child
P: Phoenix - If I ever feel better
Q: Queen - Breakthrough
R: Roy Ayers - Everybody loves the sunshine
S: The Brothers Johnson - Strawberry Letter 23
T: Timex Social Club - Rumors
U: The Libertines - Up the Bracket
V: Vitalic - Poison Lips
W: Guns N’ Roses - Welcome to the Jungle
X: Marvin Gaye - Mercy mercy me (The Ecology)
X is for… for not even fitting this into my list! A Big Fat X in fact. The lyrics on Mercy Mercy are still as powerful and hold as much sorrow of the world dealing with the environment as they did almost 40 years ago when released, tragic really.
Y: Prodigy - Your Love
Z: Zero 7 - Somersault

I get that much music every month I never know what is what (what the fuck!) and I feel like doing a t DJ-set. So in order to not spend 5 hours selecting tracks and another 3 deciding which should be used in the set I have decided that I will do a “Lucky Dip DJ Set”, the rules are…
*Set length 1 hour
*Tracks selected randomly (First time I had heard them in most cases)
*Upload set no matter what the outcome – eeck!

Klaus Quirini claims to be the first DJ in the world. Obviously this is an extremely dubious claim that nobody could ever really prove, but so far no one’s kicked up a fuss about it, so we’re just going to buy it. Why not?
The story goes that Klaus stumbled across a set of turntables by chance one night, dubbed himself DJ Heinrich, and gave birth to an entire era. Because we have no idea what entertainment used to be like in post-war Germany and we were interested in what a 67-year-old guy thinks about being the father of DJ culture, we met up with him for a chat.
